The possibility of welcoming a subsequent baby into our lives can help us hold onto a fragile strand of hope when we are feeling desperate and give us the focus and determination to move forward, when life feels incredibly difficult.
We understand that not everyone who wishes to try for another baby gets that chance and making the difficult decision to close the door on any future pregnancies, for whatever reason, can be very difficult to make and a kind of grief of its own.
Being a parent to a ‘rainbow’ baby can also be a difficult world to navigate, potentially filled with worry and anxiety that everything is okay, wondering if this is the type of parent you would have been had you not experienced loss, and never knowing the best answer to the question that we have all experienced – how many children do you have?
Just as when we are in the depths of our grief, it can be a lonely time, but you don’t have to go through all of it alone. Please reach out to the team if you would like to have a chat, no matter what stage you are at in your grief or life after loss. We are always here for you. x
