Volunteer of the Year nominee – our incredible Jeanette Dickson ![]()
Today we want to shine a very special light on Jeanette, who has been nominated for BBC Radio Scotland Make a Diffference Volunteer of the Year. ![]()
Jeanette knows the pain of baby loss all too well. She lost her precious wee grandson Jasper, and from that experience of devastating loss, she has chosen to give her time, her heart and her experience to help others.
She started volunteering with us in our shop every week, and now spends her time supporting our team at the office too.
Jeanette lovingly makes up the little bags we give to each parent we support and understands that comfort these acts of kindness bring at an incredibly difficult time. ![]()
She also runs our Grandparents Support Group, creating a safe space for grandparents who are grieving the loss of their precious grandchild.
Jeanette gives so much of herself to Held In Our Hearts, and to the families and grandparents we support. She embodies our values of Empathy, Connection and Love.
We are incredibly proud of you, Jeanette. ![]()
And we couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of this nomination. ![]()
