Our amazing volunteer Jeanette, who has been involved with the charity for many years now, has been been nominated for a BBC Radio Scotland Make a Difference Award!
Speaking to Cathy MacDonald on her Sunday Morning radio show, Jeanette explained how after the loss of her grandchild she wanted to give something back to the charity that had supported her family.
Starting as a volunteer in our old charity shop in Newington, Edinburgh, Jeanette went on to found our Grandparents Group in 2019 which still meets each month in our family room at our Craiglockhart office.
Jeanette knows the value of speaking with someone else who understands and in turn this has helped Jeanette process a lot of her grief.
You can listen to Jeanette’s full interview, which starts at about 29 minutes into the show by following this link – https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0030wx1 or by scanning the QR code.
We cannot thank you enough Jeanette for your continued dedication to the charity; you do so much to help the team and the families we support and we wish you the best of luck at the awards on Sunday 13th September. You’re already a winner in our eyes! x
