We would like to wish all our runners who are taking part in the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running on Sunday the best of luck and say a huge thank you for all their amazing fundraising so far!
We have runners proudly wearing their Held In Our Hearts vests across all events – from the Wee Nessie all the way up to the marathon itself.
Proudly taking on the 10km are Jantine and Gordon, running in memory of their precious son Robin. Jantine explained her reasons for running, not only for Robin, but in honour of all the parents who have lost their little ones –
“I am extremely passionate about this little powerhouse of a charity and forever grateful for them, as without them, I may still not be able to talk about one of my children out loud.
Not only are his dad and I running the 10K in honour of our Robin, proudly wearing his name across our chest – We are also running in honour of the parents who have lost their precious little ones, some dear to us, most who we’ve never met.
Nobody should face the death of their baby alone and we want to do everything we can to ensure that Held in Our Hearts can keep supporting those, who are carrying the heaviest, invisible weight in their hearts each day of their lives, while the world keeps turning.”
We are so grateful for your support and kind words. We know Robin will be looking down on you both with so much pride ![]()

Also taking on the challenge of three of the four distances we have Team Anya. This fantastic family team is made up of mum, Sara, dad, Mark, big brother Orrin, as well as auntie Lauren and cousin Katie. Together they are covering the Wee Nessie, the 5km and the 10km in memory of darling Anya ![]()
We cannot thank you all enough for taking on this challenge as a team. We know it will be an emotional day for you all and Anya will be with you every step of the way.

And last, but by no means least we have Tug, representing us in the scenic, but challenging Loch Ness marathon. Tug doesn’t have a personal connection to the charity but wanted to take on this epic challenge in support of us as he’d noticed we are less well known than some of the bigger charities across the Highlands – how kind is that?! He’s been putting in a lot of training miles and has smashed his target! Well done!

As you’re running remember how amazing you all are. Whether you’re running to create a legacy or just as a personal challenge, together your efforts are helping ensure that no family has to go it alone after loss and that makes you all incredible people!
Best of luck from the Held In Our Hearts team! ![]()
