New funding from Perinatal Infant Mental Health Fund

The Held In Our Hearts team are extremely pleased to announce that our charity has been selected among 17 other third sector organisations from across Scotland to have been awarded funding from the Scottish Government’s Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Small Grants Fund.
The fund supports small to medium sized organisations that provide community-based peer, parenting and counselling support to parents and carers. For our charity, this grant allows us to continue our compassionate support and care for bereaved families after losing their precious baby.
During lockdown, we saw a huge increase in demand for our support services, with befriending increased by 54%, and our counselling service increased by 21%. In 2020, we held 1,050 virtual counselling sessions, saw 93 new referrals, 700 instances of virtual befriending, and over 40 virtual support groups for bereaved families.
Our counselling and befriending services provide a safe space for bereaved parents to share their thoughts and feelings about their loss, and we are so grateful that we are able to support bereaved parents in this way. We would like to extend our thanks to both Inspiring Scotland and the The Scottish Government for allocating a share in this fund to Held In Our Hearts.
