As we say goodbye to March we want to give a huge shout out and thanks to all our friends at NHS Lothian, West Lothian Council and The City of Edinburgh Council who have all played a big part in our induction training for our new Hospital to Home team and educating our student midwives on placement. It’s important families receive the right information at the right time from compassionate sources and it takes a collective effort to give the best care. It’s been a great example of third sector and statutory working together.
Thank you Wendy and Gina (NHS bereavement support), Alison (mortuary), NHS spiritual care, Jane and Alan (Mortonhall Cemetery) and Ann (West Lothian cemeteries officer) and Emma Campbell (Simpsons-RIE) ❤️
Last but not least, a big heartfelt thank you to all the courageous families who gave their time to tell their story of love and loss. A chance to educate others and say their baby’s name. Everyone takes their story with them into their line of work which will in turn help another bereaved parent. This is priceless as the lived experience voice is at the heart of how we all learn 💙💕
We continue to strive to do all we can to make sure bereaved families receive the care and support they need ✨
