Many thanks to the wonderful Wee Gems

Wee Gems Children’s Nurseries Broxburn recently held a fundraiser for us, in support of one of their families. Vikki and Andy’s daughter Isla attends the nursery, and it was her little sister, precious Eden that died last year.
Vikki said: “I was delighted when Pamela, the manager at Wee Gems, suggested that their charity fundraiser this year could be in aid of a charity of our choice. Andy and I immediately chose Sands Lothians as we’d recently begun attending their monthly support group in Edinburgh and also seeing Cecilia, a befriender for Sands, which we were finding really helpful.

It means the world to us that people are willing to reach out and commit their time, effort, skills and money to raise funds for a charity which they may not have needed, and hopefully never will. It’s truly overwhelming.

We’re so glad to have been able to contribute to the awareness of Sands and babyloss in order to help make the journey easier for others who sadly find themselves in our situation.”

Heather, one of our befrienders kindly went along on the day to give support and Angie popped along this week to meet the little fundraisers and say a huge thank you for all their hard work – the most exciting bit for them was ‘cleaning’ the big cheque! Thank you so much to Wee Gems Children’s Nurseries too for supporting us and to all the local families for donating on the day and raising so much money xx
